Hello, everyone!
It's almost time to unveil our new Doctor Who anthology release for 2020. We can confirm that Unbound Imaginings, Volume 2 will be debuting in full on the 2nd December 2020 (GMT+10). More details will become available on the release date itself. However, we can tell you now that this new volume contains contributions from Kevin M. Johnston, Chris Taylor, Noé Géric, Tom Hannah-Golden, Cecil J. Finchley and Tim Bradley with Alan Camlann and Andrew Hsieh on editorial duty. We have a few surprises we're going to keep under wraps until the beginning of December. Look forward to seeing you then! All the best from us at Divergent Wordsmiths! With our submission window closed, we've decided to throw open our doors to any artists interested in creating interior illustrations (i.e. digital artwork) for stories in the upcoming Unbound Imaginings, Vol.2. An opportunity to show off the best of what you can offer in a snapshot of an unusual tale.
Details of the submission process can be found on our "Submissions Guidelines" page here. Criteria:
A reminder to our Wordsmiths that the day of the deadline for Unbound Imaginings, Vol.2 has now arrived. Good luck, all! How do we do deadlines?
Normally, this would be a case of setting a specific date/time and leaving it at that. However, given that we have Wordsmiths all over the world, there is one minor tweak that's made to account for the international date line. We use something called the World Clock, which indicates all the popular time zones from Accra to Zurich and set the beginning of that final day between the earliest and latest zones. All living through the same end of month, but across this quantum of planetary rotation (temporal relativity, wot). The online September 30th begins with Kiritimati's September 30th (UTC/GMT +10 hours) and will end with Honolulu's September 30th (UTC/GMT -10 hours). What is Unbound Imaginings?
Unbound Imaginings is an opportunity to explore "What if?" possibilities for both official and unofficial Doctors. To let loose and explore an idea, a character or a setting that would be difficult, if not impossible, to flesh out in Doctor Who's primary timeline. Submission Window: Pitches, synopses and drafts can be sent from July 31st 2020 to September 30th 2020. Submission Criteria
How do I submit a story for this collection? All the necessary information for the submission process is available on our Submissions Guidelines page. Best wishes and happy writing! |
