Hello, all!

Alan Camlann, here, with an important announcement.

Having begun in 2017, Divergent Wordsmiths will be reaching its five-year anniversary of production. A milestone that comes after 40+ short stories, one full novel (with two more in the works), numerous essays, a hatstand of articles and a gallimaufry of uncollected stories. All from a vast variety of authors. Ranging from the emerging to the professional, and those who have successfully made the transition from one to the other.

It would be very easy, after all this time, to sit on our laurels and enjoy. It's a commendable achievement. The Paul Spragg ReCollections Anthology: Volume 2 was one of our biggest collections yet. With contributions from Divergent Wordsmiths' longtime authors and incoming voices. However, when Doctor Who reached its first major milestone, the 10th anniversary, the current production team at the time took the extra step and created The Three Doctors. A celebration of the show's past, honouring its present and setting a new course for the future.

We'd like to do the same for Divergent Wordsmiths.

The first anniversary collection and seventh volume of Divergent Wordsmiths. Celebrating five years of the community and the 60th anniversary of the show that inspired it. A diamond jubilee and one we intend to celebrate with gusto.

But, just what is A Sparkle of Doctors?

A Sparkle of Doctors is a Multiversal anthology that pivots around the machinations of Diamant. A fresh-faced member of the Higher Powers of Doctor Who, not unlike the Guardians, Eternals, Toymaker, Great Intelligence, Animus or Fenric. Diamant is a Pan-like trickster figure with designs on the Doctor and their companions, as its fellow beings flee the Omniverse under mysterious circumstances. It's up to the Doctor(s), whether from our Universe or another, to solve the being's Herculean labours and unravel their schemes.

​But across the Multiverse, something is Changing. The fundamental rhythm of Creation, the heartsbeat of Time and Space itself, is beginning to twist and alter. In the broken places of the cosmos, something is growing...
